A 'yin'-style, calming class.
Pause combines yin yoga, which is slower and more meditative than the more 'yang' style vinyasa, or flow. Pause will allow you the opportunity to tune inward and connect with the physical sensations of your body. Instead of toning muscle, in yin we are targeting connective tissue, fascia, ligaments, bones, and joints. Learn to control your breath and mind through initial discomfort, to come to a place you can sit in stillness. You will be encouraged to hold postures (asanas) for longer periods of time, and the use of equipment like yoga blocks, pillows, or even rolled-up towels or blankets is encouraged for support.
