Pole Warriors Class with VTang

Review

Hi everyone, I’m a NWY newbie here, signed up for my first class last week and excited to explore a bit more. I’m on my second Pole Warriors class and I wanted to encourage anyone who has been on the fence about trying out the Pole Warriors class with VTang to try it!

First, on the instructor himself: I think it can be difficult for people who are highly talented at something to simplify their explanations enough to make sense to a total beginner, but VTang is truly exceptional with this. The way he is able to explain concepts, blocks, and choreo even makes sense to my brain that is dead after a long day of mentally demanding work. He maintains a balance between positive encouragement and constructive feedback that has been very helpful so far. He definitely tries to both challenge and uplift us, which makes the class feel rewarding at the end. You can tell he has such a vast depth of knowledge when it comes to pole technique and he is so passionate, which is infectious!

On the flow of the class: I think VTang has this down to a science. He starts off with a great yoga-oriented stretch and warm-up session. It definitely helps you stretch and feel comfortable to get on the pole so that you won’t hurt your muscles. Usually the class splits into a beginner pole (where my best friend and I are at) and then an advanced pole. Obviously each side is catered to what you can handle and VTang curates moves for you to experiment with. He’ll break down a series of moves into pieces, demonstrate a few times really slow, and ask you to try it. It’s daunting at first but each time you try he will give you detailed feedback that helps you improve. As the class goes on you’ll learn to put the pieces he’s giving you together in a way that looks so cool.

On pole dancing in general: I usually drag myself to the gym and don’t ever really enjoy what I do there. I think this class is a fantastic opportunity for people regardless of body type or how physically inclined you are to learn a useful skill that enhances your life in many other ways (e.g., flexibility, physical fitness, graceful movement, strength, etc.). I didn’t realize at first that pole dancing was as difficult as it is actually - I guess strippers are fantastic actors too because they make it look so easy - but the difficulty is ultimately what makes it rewarding. The more you gain confidence, the more enjoyable it becomes. I’m not gonna lie, it’s a bit rough on your body, but like any physical fitness class, you have to overcome something.. and at least I’ll look sickening doing it.

Ultimate verdict: Regardless of age, body type, or physical fitness capability, I would recommend trying out VTang’s Pole Warriors class! I’m genuinely enjoying it and VTang is so supportive that everyone feels uplifted, included, and challenged in the class. Come join us on Thursdays (not next Thursday 12/26 though). Thanks for taking your time to read this long ass post!

@Matt Jaconetta Thank you for your kind words and uplifting feedback. It means so much to know that you and Anthony found joy and meaning in my pole class. You were both incredible students, and your openness and energy made the experience truly special.

I pour my heart into creating a space where people can feel the impact of trying something as unique—and sometimes intimidating—as pole dance. But in truth, a successful class is a partnership, like a tennis match. I can serve the ball, but without the trust and engagement of the participants, it loses momentum. Because you both showed up wholeheartedly and committed to the process, we found a rhythm and discovered something new together.

Thank you again for sharing this testimonial. I hope it inspires other NWY members to step outside their comfort zones and embrace the unexpected—you never know what joy and growth might be waiting on the other side.
